The Joshua Stone
A New World
“Babylon the Great was remembered in the sight of God, to give her the cup of the wine of the anger of his wrath.” (Rev 16:19b) A dramatic scene is played out in the seventeenth chapter of Revelation. We see a woman riding the final eighth king drinking a cup of disgusting things and unclean things of her fornication. The Babylon of ancient time is known for being the origin of much of our current world’s false religions, so how appropriate that Revelation uses this city as a metaphor for that Babylon of today that has been the cause of so much suffering and bloodshed in the world. As a matter of fact chapter seventeen tells us she rides the eighth king as if giving it her complete and total support instead of that of Jehovah Gods kingdom! “That is why in one day her plagues will come, death and mourning and famine, and she will be completely burned with fire, because Jehovah God, who judged her, is strong.” (Rev 18:8)
Going back to the Joshua stone and Dan 12:11 we know there is a disgusting thing that is destined to stand in a holy place one thousand two hundred and ninety days after the Watchtower Society goes down. Let’s examine what this event is and the reasoning behind its placement. “But there will be reports that will disturb him, out of the sunrising and out of the north, and he will certainly go forth in a great rage in order to annihilate and to devote many to destruction.” (Dan 11:44) It will come to the attention of this eighth king that Jehovah’s people have had an experience similar to Jesus’s transfiguration on the Mount of Olives, and it will make it obvious that these are his true followers. Those making up the eighth king will realize their time has come to an end, and their response to each other is clear at Psalms 2:3: “Let us tear their bands apart and cast their cords away from us!” Thinking foolishly if they come against Gods people in cutting them off from this earth, then the one seated on the throne would leave them alone finds quick decisiveness on the part of Jehovah! "The One enthroned in the heavens will laugh; Jehovah will scoff at them." (Psm 2:4)
It’s no doubt at this time the world will be in the mind set to call out "Peace and security”, however, Zech 2:13 tells us Jehovah's response to their cries;“Keep silence, all flesh, before Jehovah, for he has aroused himself from his holy dwelling.” “Whenever it is that they are saying: “Peace and security!” then sudden destruction is to be instantly upon them.” (1 Th 5:3a)
The completion of the two thousand three hundredth day in the time of the end brings us to the first day of Dan 12:12: “Happy is the one who is keeping in expectation and who arrives at the one thousand three hundred and thirty five days!” A wonderful privilege it will be for those on earth who reach this day for the Bible tells us quiet clear in Psalms 37:29: “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.” Jehovah’s original purpose for the earth and the humans he put on it were to exist in peace on a paradise world forever, and that purpose has never changed. What a wonderful prospect to look forward to when all sin and death have been removed and mankind will live in harmony for eternity!
